In his revelation, Joo Ji Hoon described the overwhelming environment of his school, where thousands of students populated each grade.
According to AllKpop, “There were around 4,000 students per grade, with 19 classes and 75 students per class”, he recalled, “It was a large environment, and I often felt overwhelmed. I couldn’t imagine standing out among so many students”.
Recalling his middle school years, Joo Ji Hoon recounted instances of physical fights among classmates. “There were classmates who engaged in physical fights, but I refrained from getting involved due to my size. However, things took a turn when groups formed, and fights escalated. Instead of settling disputes one-on-one, they resorted to threats involving siblings. It was intimidating, and I vividly remember feeling fearful”, he explained.
Despite his eventual career path as an actor, Joo Ji Hoon acknowledged that he was not immune to the scourge of bullying. He confessed, “I consider myself fortunate not to have engaged in such behavior myself, but I was subjected to bullying throughout my high school years. I faced pressure from a group of peers who demanded submission, and although I resisted to some extent, I ultimately found myself yielding to their demands”.
