Randeep Hooda‘s dual role as an actor and director in Swatantra Veer Savarkar, portraying Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, has received significant acclaim. Despite this, the film hasn’t connected with audiences as strongly as Article 370 and The Kerala Story. Nevertheless, ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar‘ has steadily surpassed its reported Rs 20 crore budget over the weekend. But the film faced a sharp drop on Monday to collect its lowest amount.
After collecting Rs 11.35 crore in the first week and Rs 6.4 crore in the second week, the film entered the third weekend on a good note to collect Rs 2.85 crore, but on Monday, the film crashed by nearly 70 % to collect Rs 35 lakhs as per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 20.95 crore.
From tomorrow evening onwards Swatantra Veer Savarkar will face competition from Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan as its paid premieres will start and 11th April Maidaan along with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will release with big numbers of screens. Besides Randeep, the film also features Ankita Lokhande, Rajesh Khera and Amit Sial in pivotal roles.
