Presenting the sneak peek, director Levy emphasized, “This movie was built for audience joy,” setting the tone for what was to come.
The footage offered a glimpse into the unconventional world of Wade Wilson, portrayed as a retired car salesman navigating life outside the superhero realm.Packed with trademark Deadpool humour and R-rated moments, the preview reportedly left the audience laughing out loud.In one memorable scene, Deadpool breaks the fourth wall to cheekily proclaim, “Suck it, Fox. I’m going to Disneyland!”
Adding to the excitement, the footage teased a brief reunion between Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine. The clip also featured a moment between the duo on a chaotic car ride.
Besides this, the clip also confirmed cameos from the OG Avengers. Chris Evans makes a return as Captain America, a role he last played in 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’. The clip in question features on a screen at the TVA headquarters. This was previously teased in the film’s Super Bowl trailer early this year.
According to reports, Chris Hemsworth also returns as Thor in some new footage. According to THR, Deadpool “sees a clip of Chris Hemsworth as Thor crying over his body.”
Hemsworth, who last played the God of Thunder in 2022’s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, reportedly filmed the emotional scene which happens “in the distant future.”
Meanwhile, The Wrap described Thor as a cameo, leading many to believe that his role in the film will feature new footage and not re-runs from older films.
‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is expected to also bring back several MCU heroes over the years, ranging from Avengers to X-Men. While speaking to ET, director Shawn was also asked about the rumours about Taylor Swift‘s possible cameo in the movie as Dazzler. “That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview,” Shawn joked.
“I’m going to literally walk about of the frame and save myself, otherwise Ryan’s taking a hit [out] on me.”
The film is scheduled to release on July 26 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
