Ranveer Singh’s latest project, Dhurandhar, is already generating buzz after a leaked video from the film’s set surfaced online.
The clip in question features Ranveer rocking a rather familiar look which he helped imortalise with his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s ‘Padmaavat‘. His intense new look for the film sees him sporting a rugged beard, long hair and bulging biceps which fans have described as reminiscent of his Alauddin Khilji avatar.
In the video leaked from the sets, Ranveer is seen in what appears to be a fierce action sequence. Donning a long kurta and untamed hair, and what appears to be a cigarette in his hand, the actor is seen getting into character and pulling off a menacing walk while other men, who appear to be from his ‘gang’ mobilise around the rural town setting.
The star’s menacing aura, intense expressions and larger-than-life presence immediately caught the attention of fans, who couldn’t help but draw parallels to his portrayal of Khilji while others couldn’t help but wonder if it had some similarity to Ranbir Kapoor’s act in ‘Animal‘.
The internet is abuzz with comparisons and speculations. One fan commented, “He looks so hot… Khilji coded.” Another speculated about a possible thematic similarity between Dhurandhar and Animal. “Leaks from Dhurandhar!! Looks great but kinda similar to Animal. Thoughts?” a fan wrote.
Ranveer announced his next film Dhurandhar last July in a post that read,
“This one is for my fans, who have been so patient with me and clamouring for a turn like this.” He added, “I love you all, and I promise you, this time, a cinematic experience like never before. With your blessings, we embark on this great, big motion picture adventure with spirited energy and pure intent. This time, it’s personal.”
Ranveer will be joined by Bollywood heavyweights like Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.
