Saif Ali Khan was injured in a stabbing incident during a burglary at his Bandra home early on Thursday morning. The accused, who was later caught in Thane, has claimed in his statement that he didn’t realize Saif was a famous actor. Following his arrest, he was produced in the Bandra Court on Sunday and has been sent to five days of police custody.
The case has raised many questions as new details emerge, and the situation remains unclear. The accused’s statement aligns with the account given by a rickshaw driver who transported Saif to the hospital after the incident. The driver mentioned that he didn’t recognize Saif as a Bollywood star initially. He also noted that Saif’s elder son, Taimur, accompanied him to the police station when the actor went to file a report, as per IANS.
The incident took place at approximately 2:15 am when the burglar entered Saif’s home. The intruder first attacked the family’s house help, causing a commotion that woke Saif. Hearing noises coming from his younger son Jeh’s room, Saif went to investigate and found the intruder confronting the house help. Without hesitation, Saif intervened to protect the staff, fighting off the burglar with his bare hands.
During the struggle, Saif was stabbed six times, with two of the injuries considered serious as they are dangerously close to his spine. Despite the severity of the attack, the actor managed to protect his family. At the time of the incident, Saif’s wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and other family members were at home but were asleep and unaware of the unfolding events.
Following the attack, Saif was rushed to the hospital and has since been reported to be in stable condition. His team released a statement reassuring fans and the public that Saif is out of danger and recovering well. A team of medical professionals is closely monitoring his health as he begins the healing process.
