Bethenny Frankel thinks it was a “brilliant” move for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds to poke fun at their legal feud with Justin Baldoni during “SNL 50: The Anniversary Special.”
“‘SNL’ was nothing short of brilliant for having them on last night. It’s marketing genius,” the “Real Housewives of New York City” alum said in a video shared to TikTok Monday.
“They are the epicenter, they are the zeitgeist that is popular culture,” Frankel added of the married couple currently embroiled in lawsuits with the “It Ends With Us” director.
The Skinnygirl Cocktails founder, 54, went on to emphasize that “Saturday Night Live” is known to cover “disruptive people” along with “disruptive topics.”
Frankel also went as far as to say that it was “smart” of the “Gossip Girl” alum and Reynolds to attend the show’s anniversary special Sunday night.
“From a marketing standpoint it was a great idea on everyone’s part,” the TV personality continued.
“Not everyone lives in the bowels of TikTok reading every single legal document and knows every single thing that you guys all know.”
On Sunday, Lively — who co-stars alongside Baldoni in “It Ends With Us” — and Reynolds made their first red carpet appearance since she filed her sexual harassment lawsuit against the film’s director.
Not only did the “Deadpool” actor, 48, and Lively, 37, pose for cameras while at the event, they were even included during the show’s opening.
“For Ryan and Blake to participate is nothing short of genius,” Frankel said in an earlier post shared Sunday night.
“Because the only way to weather a storm is to go straight through it,” she continued gushing before concluding the clip with, “Bravo.”
While opening the show, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler called out Reynolds, who was sitting in the audience alongside his wife.
“Ryan Reynolds! How’s it going?” they asked him, to which he quipped, “Great! Why, what have you heard?”
Although Frankel applauded the move, Hollywood insiders told Page Six exclusively that it was not a good look.
They stated that Reynolds and Lively “should have sat this one out.”
“It’s very plausible that Justin’s legal team will use this public outing to defend Baldoni,” our source tells us.
“Justin is taking this lawsuit in all seriousness and isn’t making a public mockery out of it.”
A separate source told Page Six that the “A Simple Favor” actress “was initially hesitant to attend the anniversary show but ultimately she’s glad she went and had a really nice time.”
“Blake and Ryan have no regrets about making an appearance and they’re glad they showed up because they have nothing to hide and no reason not to,” the source said.
Frankel previously addressed the “It Ends With Us” feud between Baldoni and Lively on TikTok on Jan. 8.
The entrepreneur attended the “It Ends With Us” New York City premiere in August 2024 and claimed that the “vibe was off” at the event.
Frankel added that “something was definitely awry from the jump and it was palpable.”
Baldoni, 41, has denied all of Lively’s allegations against him and a trial date has been set for March 9, 2026.
