The film has received a decent start for the morning shows, having minted about Rs 5.3 crore as per Sacnilk. As far as advance booking is concerned, the film has managed to sell tickets worth over Rs 10 crores, and going into the morning shows numbers, the film should easily cross Rs 35 crore making it one of the biggest openings for a Tamil film this year.
The film is also expected to take a very good start in North America, just for its premiere shows, it has sold tickets worth US $ 650.000 and the numbers are expected to cross US $ 800,000 by the end of the day, making it in the Top 5 all time highest Tamil grosser.
Indian 2 was just supposed to be a sequel to the 1996 blockbuster film, but Shankar has expanded it into a trilogy, with the third part set to release next year.The trailer of the film has been attached to the second part. During editing, he realized the second part had substantial scope, leading him to split it into two films. The cast includes Siddharth, Kajal Agarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, and SJ Suryah. While A. R. Rahman composed the original film’s music, Anirudh has taken over for this installment. Following Indian 2, Shankar will release Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani.
