In an engaging conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Junaid shared his thoughts on the family’s acting prowess and revealed some intriguing insights.
Junaid, the son of Aamir Khan and his first wife Reena Dutta, expressed his admiration for Kiran Rao’s acting skills. Despite his father’s illustrious career, Junaid confidently stated, “Actually, Kiran is also probably the best actor in the family.” When Siddharth Kannan pressed him about his father, Junaid reaffirmed his stance, saying, “No no, Kiran is definitely the best actor in the family.”
The conversation also touched upon Junaid’s journey in the film industry. He disclosed that he has auditioned for around seven to eight films, including Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha.’ Interestingly, Kiran Rao played his mother during the auditions for the film.
Recalling the experience, Junaid said, “I have actually worked with her on the test for ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. In the audition, she was playing my mother, and since I have worked with her as an actor, I can say that she is the best actor in the family with full confidence.”
Junaid further mentioned that Kiran Rao, who directed the upcoming film ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ genuinely appreciated his debut project ‘Maharaj.’ Despite acknowledging Kiran’s talent, he humorously speculated on whether Aamir Khan himself would admit to Kiran being the best actor in the family.
