Earlier this year, Shikhar Dhawan discussed his career and retirement plans in an interview with ANI, he shared, “I am also going through a transition ‘Jahan Meri Cricket Vishram Pe Aayegi’ (Where my cricket will arrive at a resting phase) and a new chapter in my life will start. You only have a certain age till you can play. It could be one year more, two years more, or xyz for me.”
Recently, Dhawan joined the cricket community in bidding farewell to James Anderson, who played his final Test against the West Indies. The match concluded in just three days, marking Anderson’s retirement from the game on Friday, July 12.
Dhawan’s most recent appearance in Indian colors was during an ODI series against Bangladesh in 2022. Despite his exclusion from the 2023 ODI World Cup squad, where India reached the final but lost to Australia, he made a comeback in the 2024 IPL.
