Fresh from his successful role in ‘Jungle‘ (2000), where he played a memorable psychotic bandit, Rajpal was added to the film by producer Sajid Nadiadwala without consulting Jaffery.Nadiadwala informed Rajpal that he would have the third-best role in the comedy-drama, after those of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, and instructed him to get the details from Jaffery. Upon receiving Rajpal’s call, Jaffery was initially taken aback but soon set about creating a role that would fit seamlessly into the film.

At the same time, Rumi Jaffery recounted the stressful process of incorporating Rajpal Yadav into the film. When producer Sajid Nadiadwala insisted on adding Rajpal to the film without specifying a role, Jaffery was left to figure out how to fit him in. With the shooting date approaching and frequent calls from Rajpal seeking details about his role, Jaffery initially delayed providing specifics. He considered two potential roles: a broker and a rowdy gang leader, originally intended for Vindu Dara Singh. Jaffery eventually crafted a fitting part for Rajpal amidst the mounting pressure.
Rumi Jaffery revealed that he decided to give Rajpal Yadav a double role as both a broker and a gang leader, inspired by the idea of twin brothers. This last-minute decision, made under pressure, was well-received by producer Sajid Nadiadwala and satisfied Rajpal. Jaffery praised Rajpal’s acting talent for fitting the role perfectly despite the time constraints.
Jaffery also shared his fondness for pugs, a breed he wanted to feature since his earlier film *Chalte Chalte* (2003). Although he couldn’t use a pug in that film, he successfully included one in ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’. Unfortunately, the original pug used in the film died during the shoot. To resolve this, Jaffery and his team quickly found a similar-looking pug to complete the scenes.
