Emraan Hashmi recently looked back at a moment from his early career when Ameesha Patel turned down the idea of working with him. Although Emraan’s acting debut was in 2003 with Footpath, he was initially slated to star alongside Ameesha in Mahesh Bhatt’s Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar.
In a recent chat with The Lallantop, Emraan revealed that Ameesha felt he wasn’t suitable for a role and expressed her concerns to the filmmaker. He explained, “She (Ameesha Patel) thought I couldn’t pull off the role. Coming off the success of ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai‘, she was understandably cautious and wanted the casting (for the role) to be perfect. She likely preferred a more experienced actor over someone with limited experience.”
Emraan shared that, later on, Ameesha conveyed her concerns to Mahesh Bhatt, mentioning that she didn’t believe he was the right fit for the role. He admitted that he was quite upset at that time, but now, with hindsight, he understands her point of view.
