Donald Trump clinched victory against Kamala Harris in the United States presidential elections.
As congratulations poured in from world leaders, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram handle to congratulate Trump on the big win.
Sharing a viral photo of Trump from an apparent failed attempt to assassinate him during his rally, Kangana wrote, “If I were American, I would vote for the one who got shot, dodged it, got up and continued his speech… total killer.”In another post, Ranaut took the opportunity to express her views on Vice President Kamala Harris’ defeat, holding Hollywood and its alleged influence on political candidates partially responsible. Sharing a collage of pictures of celebrities like Taylor Swift, Beyonce, George Clooney, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Stiller and many others, she wrote, “Do you know Kamala’s ratings went drastically down when these clowns endorsed her, people thought she was frivolous, flaky and untrustworthy for hanging out with such people.”
Ranaut, known for her outspoken views on politics and cultural issues, concluded by saying, “A nice comeback story. Congratulations America.” She also shared a picture of Trump bleeding after receiving a bullet wound to his ear.
Ranaut’s remarks come amidst discussions about whether Hollywood’s visibility on the campaign trail has a measurable effect on public perception and voting. While Trump had only a handful of celebrities endorsing him, Harris had over 200 celebrities from movies, music and sports endorsing her as the next president.
On the work front, Kangana is awaiting the release of her political drama ‘Emergency’. Initially slated to release in October–November 2023, the film faced several delays in its release. Last month, the film was cleared by the Censor Board and awarded a U/A certification after certain cuts and disclaimers were added. The actress has yet to announce the release date.
