The entertainment world is mourning the loss of yet another star. Beloved singer Wayne Osmond recently breathed his last at the age of 73.
Reports have mentioned a stroke as the reason for his demise. Wayne’s brother Merrill Osmond confirmed the news of his passing away on Facebook. The late singer was surrounded by his family in Salt Lake City during his last moments on Wednesday, December 1.
“When I learned that my brother Wayne had a massive stroke, my immediate response was to fall to my knees and pray for him to receive the assurance that his mission had been accomplished, and he was successful in this endeavor in many ways,” wrote Wayne’s brother Merrill Osmond in his post.
“I immediately drove to the hospital in SLC to see him, and I was able to say my goodbyes,” he added.
Merrill in his heartfelt post described his late brother as a saint. The singer shared how he has never met a single person who had more humility and absolutely no guile, other than his brother. Wayne had the rare quality of quickly forgiving and showing unconditional love. Last but not least, to describe the talent of his late brother, Merril used the term ‘genius.’
The late Wayne Osmond rose to fame in the 1950s with his brothers Merrill, Jay Osmond, and Alan Osmond. Discovered by Jay Emerson Williams at a Disneyland performance in the 1960s. Thereafter, the Osmond brothers made several appearances on The Andy Williams Show in the ’60s, according to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
At the peak of his fame, Wayne tied the knot with, Kathlyn in 1974. The couple was blessed with five kids- Amy Osmond, Steven Osmond, Gregory Osmond, Sarah Osmond, and Michele Osmond. According to People, Wayne was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1994 but made a full recovery six months later.
