Shah Rukh Khan was reportedly in talks with Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik for Chamunda, with Alia Bhatt also in discussions for the film. However, recent reports indicate that Khan declined the project, stating his preference against joining an existing cinematic universe.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Shah Rukh was reportedly considered for the lead role in Chamunda, a key project in Maddock Films‘ horror-comedy universe. The report also added that SRK chose not to be part of an existing cinematic universe and instead showed interest in collaborating on a new project with Maddock and Amar Kaushik.Reports suggest that Shah Rukh requested Maddock and Amar Kaushik to pitch a fresh concept in an unexplored genre. As a result, the duo is now considering other options for Chamunda, though they remain optimistic about working with him on a future project.
It was also revealed that Chamunda was one of several projects Dinesh Vijan pitched to Shah Rukh Khan, but their plans did not align.
