Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, known to be fiercely private about their family life, have found themselves in the spotlight after photos of their children, son Akaay and daughter Vamika, surfaced online.
Photos of the children’s faces were accidentally revealed in a viral post and have since sparked mixed reactions from fans, with some celebrating the rare glimpse and others criticising the invasion of privacy.
The incident occurred when a video shot at a private airport in Mumbai revealed a glimpse of Akaay’s face while his mom carried him into the car. This photo was the first glimpse of the little one and came about a year after his birth in London, last February.
The family was returning from Vrindavan, where they had sought blessings from Premananda Maharaj Ji. While the spiritual visit garnered attention, it was the footage featuring blurred-out visuals of the couple’s children that created a buzz online. The photos of the two children drew a flurry of comments from fans.
While some fans were thrilled to finally see Akaay’s face, others, however, voiced concerns about fans disrespecting the family’s request to keep their children out of the public eye. While there were many shared the photos of the little ones, there were others who only shared their excitement over the resemblance Akaay shared with mommy Anushka.
Virat and Anushka had requested media not to show the faces of their children and hence ETimes has abstained from attaching the viral social media posts with this report.
Back in 2022, Vamika’s face was accidentally revealed during a cricket match. At the time, Anushka issued an appeal on social media, stating that they were caught off guard and they reiterated their desire to shield their children from media exposure. The statement read, “We realise that our daughters images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and didnt know that the camera was on us. Our stance and request on the matter stays the same. We would really appreciate if Vamika’s images are not clicked/published for reasons we have explained earlier. Thank you!”
Meanwhile, the couple was spotted on Sunday, catching a speedboat out of the city as they headed to their home in Alibaug. The actress was spotted early Monday morning, making a quick return back to the city.
According to unconfirmed reports, the couple is planning on moving to the UK, to reportedly enable their kids to have a normal upbringing, away from the spotlight.
