Aaman Devgan has now made his debut with ‘Azaad’ which has just released today. For those not in the know, Aaman is Ajay Devgn‘s nephew and has grown up watching his uncle. He makes his debut with Raveena Tandon‘s daughter Rasha Thadani. The debutants got into a chat with ETimes and told us more about themselves.
When asked at what point Aaman decided he wanted to act, he said, “It’s the kind of environment you are born in.
Saif Ali Khan Health Update
I was quite young when I started getting obsessed with cinema. You are in an out of set and you’re watching being a film being made, it’s a fantastic process. Be it as an actor, DOP, anything. It’s not an instant moment but a child seeing someting in his entire childhood and it slowly seeping into his brain. I was around 15 or 16 when I started thinking about it.”
He further revealed he was an assistant director on ‘Bhuj’ and ‘Runway 34’ which was actually directed by Ajay. But it was a childhood memory which made him respect acting as a profession. “I was really young and just saw Bhagat Singh, and it was an intense film to see at that point. I told my uncle, why do you have that moustache. It seeps into your brain and just makes you want to be an actor.”
Aaman’s uncle Ajay Devgn had earlier said during the trailer launch of ‘Azaad’ that he’s quite critical and doesn’t always compliment Aaman, even though he has put in a lot of hardwork. Reacting to it, Aaman tells us, “When he says that, it comes from a place of love. We can get as upset as we want as to why can’t I get a compliment. But they are thinking of a bigger picture and they are seeing us 20 years from now and what they expect us to achieve and we have to full those expectations. They know what it takes.”
‘Azaad’ is directed by Abhishek Kapoor of ‘Kai Po Che’ and ‘Rock On!!’ fame.
