Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Lilavati Hospital, six days after suffering serious injuries in a knife attack during a burglary attempt at his Bandra home. The actor appeared relaxed as he returned to his residence, although a bandage was visible on his neck from the six stab wounds he sustained.
The actor was discharged from Lilavati Hospital and made his way to his residence in Bandra. He was seen conversing with police officers who ensured his security was in place. Dressed smartly in a white shirt and jeans, he entered the premises looking composed despite the recent traumatic events.
On January 16, Saif was attacked by an intruder at his residence on the 12th floor, sustaining multiple stab wounds. Following the incident, he underwent emergency surgery at Hospital and is now recovering. The attacker, identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national, was arrested by police after attempting to mislead investigators about his identity.
Doctors reported that he had three stab wounds: two on his hands and one on the right side of his neck, with the most severe injury affecting his spine. A sharp object had lodged in his spine, but the medical team successfully removed it and repaired the damage. During his hospital stay, Khan underwent two critical surgeries: a neurosurgery to address the spinal injury and a plastic surgery for other wounds.
On Sunday, police arrested Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, in connection with the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. The arrest took place in Thane city, three days after the incident.
