Sridevi‘s second daughter Khushi Kapoor made her debut with ‘The Archies’ directed by Zoya Akhtar. It also starred Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Vedang Raina, Dot and Mihir Ahuja. While that had released on OTT, Khushi is now set for her first theatrical release. She’s starring opposite Junaid Khan in a romantic comedy, ‘Loveyapa‘. During a conversation with ETimes, Khushi and Junaid spoke about the film and more. During this chat, when asked about her take on love, Khushi said, “I’m quite a straight forward person. I like things to be either black and white. I feel like now a days there are a lot of grey areas. I would prefer things to be just straight forward.”
The actress further revealed how she thinks she has gotten better than her first project to now. ‘Loveyapa’ is the third film she shot. The second film which she did post ‘The Archies’ is yet to be announced and it sees her opposite Ibrahim Ali Khan. She refused to talk about it in this chat but spoke about her growth. “I think things have gotten better. Compared to when my first film was coming out, there’s a huge different in the way I approach things. There’s a bit of stage fright. You do get nervous in the way people see your work. But because this is the third film which I shot so it makes you more confident because you are not lost anymore. You know how things are going to go.”
We are in a day and age where there is social media and people freely express their opinions and even troll people. Amidst that, Khushi admits that while initially she had this fear about whether she will be accepted, she now does things on her own terms, without actually allowing people or opinions to dictate how she lives. “Initially, there was a lot of fear because I was new. As to how people would percieve me. One always wants to be liked right? That’s how it goes. There was a fear of rejection and it’s natural to feel things like that. But more confident you get as an actor and more experineced you have, the more you learn from people around, the easier the whole process gets. You can’t let other people dictate how you approach your work or things you should do.”
Ask her about her favourite movie of her mom Sridevi and Khushi says, “I think Sadma was probaby my favourite.”
