Everyone was left shocked as Mamta Kulkarni was announced the Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar akkada at MahaKumbh 2025. The actress took ‘sanyaas‘ and performed ‘pind daan’ ritual in the presence of the Kinnar Akhara members. However, many questions questioned this decision and the fact that Mamta is deserving enough for this honourable position.
However, now Mamta and Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi both have been removed from the Kinnar Akhada and the Mahamandaleshwar position. Amidst that, Kulkarni is now set to appear on ‘Aap Ki Adaalat’.
In this teaser shared by Rajat Sharma, she was asked, “Joh bhi log Sanyasi bante hai, Mahamandaleshwar bante hai, unke baare mein maana jaata hai ke unhone vedon ka adhyayan kiya hoga, shastron ka adhyayan kiya hoga. Aapke baare mein kuch aisa dikhta hai?”
As soon as she was asked this, the actress started reciting mantras loudly. This episode is yet to be aired.
Meanwhile, in an interview, Mamta had revealed if she will go back to acting again. Reacting to it, she had said, “I can’t even imagine doing films again. It is absolutely impossible for me now. People of Kinnara Akhada represent the Ardhnareshwar avatar of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. Becoming a Mahamandaleshwar of such Akhada is like an Olympic medal after 23 years of my spiritual practice. It’s only with the blessings of the Goddess Adishakti that I have been bestowed with this honour. I chose to be a part of the Kinnar Akhada because it represents freedom. There are no restrictions here.”
