Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor were madly in love and dated each other for many years. However, last year, rumours of their break-up came in. A report suggested that they have amicably parted ways but continue to respect each other. Later, at one of the events during the promotions of ‘Singham Again’, Arjun had said that he’s single. However, they continue to be friends as Arjun was always there for Malaika when her father passed away.
Now Arjun and Malaika made a rare appearance together on a television show which has Malaika as a judge. Arjun appeared on the show, ‘India’s Best Dancer Vs Super Dancer’ to promote his film, ‘Mere Husband Ki Beewi‘ which co-stars him with Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. During this episode, the dancers had paid a tribute to Malaika by performing on all her songs. Later, even the actress was brought on stage to shake a leg.
The host asked Arjun to react as Malaika finished dancing. He said, “Meri bolti band ho chuki hai saalo se, mai abhi bhi chup rehna chahta hu (I’ve been speechless for years; I prefer remaining silent even now). But I want to say this, I have got a chance to hear all my favourite songs, which just show the career and the life that she has had.”
Further being a cheerleader for Malaika, which he’s always been, Arjun added, “The kind of music, the kind of performances, and the fact that we can pay tribute to somebody who is still doing such an amazing job, so congratulations, Malaika. You know how much I love all these songs. It was wonderful to see you being celebrated like this.”
Later, Arjun also joked saying, “Malaika ke competition ko mujhse behtar kaun jaanta hai,” to which the host asked Malaika if she wants to say something. She said, “Nai, abhi kuch nahi kehna hai.” Arjun then quipped, “Dekha main bhi acche acchon ki bolti bandh karwa sakta hoon.”
‘Mere Husband Ki Beewi’ directed by Mudassar Aziz is set to release on February 21.
