The India’s Got Latent controversy grabbed most attention this week. Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, a judge on the web show, faced backlash for his comments about parents and sex, which upset many people. Stand-up comedian Samay Raina also became part of the heated debate.
The remarks, criticized by many as distasteful, led to several complaints against the duo across the country. The issue even reached Parliament, where a communications and IT panel asked the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to provide a detailed report by February 17.

In a 2:04-minute video, Saurav Gurjar expressed his anger over the comments and warned Ranveer Allahbadia that if they ever meet in Mumbai, even his security won’t be able to protect him.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the controversy, stating that the remarks were presented in a misleading way. He emphasized that while freedom of speech is important, it shouldn’t infringe on others’ rights. He also mentioned that violating societal norms is unacceptable and should be met with appropriate action.
Former NCW chief and Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma shared her shock over the remarks, stating that such jokes, regardless of gender, are not accepted by society. She stressed that making fun of a mother or a woman’s body reflects a concerning decline in moral values among today’s youth.
