In an interview with India Today, Ileana clarified that her venture into Hindi cinema wasn’t intended as a complete transition.Rather, it stemmed from her genuine admiration for the script of ‘Barfi!’ She found it to be a unique story that she didn’t anticipate encountering again. Viewing it as a rare opportunity, she chose not to pass it up. She emphasized that this decision didn’t signify a permanent shift away from South Indian films, nor did it signify a move to solely focus on Bollywood.
Upon signing up for ‘Barfi!’, Ileana sensed a misconception emerging that she was abandoning South Indian cinema for Bollywood. Consequently, she observed a decline in offers from the South. While acknowledging this shift in perception, she admitted to becoming more discerning about the projects she chose after entering Bollywood.

When asked about her perception of receiving recognition in the industry, Ileana expressed feeling that much of her work has gone unnoticed.
Ileana was recently featured in Shirsha Guha Thakurta‘s ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar,’ which hit theaters on April 19. The film also stars Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, and Sendhil Ramamurthy. Prior to that, she starred in ‘Tera Kya Hoga Lovely’ alongside Randeep Hooda, which was released on March 8. Directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, the movie also features Varun Sharma and Karan Kundrra in significant roles.
