Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar have a lengthy history together as they have collaborated on films such as ‘Sultan’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and ‘Bharat’. Ali, whose film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ is presently showing in theatres, revealed that he and Akshay Kumar had genuinely asked Salman for permission to release their film on Eid.Salman Khan has been releasing his movies around Eid every year for a long time.
In an interview with Mashable, Ali said that Salman is “an industry in himself” and he feels “Salman is the most secure person.” The filmmaker further added that he does not believe that one becomes insignificant by seeking permission, especially when it concerns someone as senior as Salman. Therefore, they contacted Salman to inquire about his plans for releasing a film on Eid. Salman graciously replied that the date was not reserved for him and encouraged them to proceed without seeking his approval.
Ali also disclosed that while he and Salman have had a few “tussles” over the years, nothing has harmed their bond. “Today whatever I am, I am because of Salman Khan. The way he has contributed to my career is phenomenal to the fact that I personally feel that he and I have great understanding. But it also doesn’t mean that we are all ‘happy-happy’, we have had tussles also. However, the relationship I have with him is 100% full of heart. He knows if I have flown in emotion, At the time it was correct. I also feel he is a lovely person,” Ali said.
Ali Abbas Zafar’s film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, hit the big screens on April 11. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar and Alaya F in pivotal roles.
