On April 27, Hansal Mehta took to his X (Twitter) account and shared his review for the film Laapataa Ladies. He wrote, “Saw the very big hearted and moving Laapata Ladies. Sometimes all that is needed is simplicity and clarity. This film is that. I went in expecting more and finished with more than it apparently delivers. It is old fashioned in a good way and modern in a very invisible manner. It is deceptively simple in its treatment and humour.”

During a conversation with author Neelesh Misra, Aamir lauded the performances of all the actors in ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ singling out Sparsh Shrivastava for particular praise. Khan admitted that Shrivastava’s performance surprised him, emphasizing the overall excellence displayed by the entire cast, including the junior actors.
He elaborated, singling out Nitanshi, Pratibha, and Ravi for their excellent portrayal of their respective roles. However, it was Sparsh’s performance that truly amazed him. Despite the character being less defined on paper, Sparsh brought it to life with his portrayal, particularly in moments of panic and movement. His performance was so compelling that it evoked genuine empathy from the audience.
Kiran Rao‘s directorial venture, produced under Aamir Khan Productions, titled ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ unfolds in rural India during the year 2001. The film follows the comedic chaos that ensues when two young brides lose their way during a train journey, leading to a series of amusing incidents.
Meanwhile, ‘Laapataa Ladies’ hit theaters on March 1st. The film is adapted from an award-winning story penned by Biplab Goswami.
