After a series of amazing releases in Hollywood like ‘Dune 2‘, ‘Kung Fu Panda 4‘, ‘Godzilla X Kong: ‘The New Empire’ and ‘The Fall Guy’, all eyes are now set on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The big screen experience is a sequel to the 2017 hit film ‘War of the Planet of the Apes‘ and takes place after 300 years . And going by the buzz the film is expected to take a bumper start and the numbers have already begun to pour in.
As per Deadline, the film had special fan shows in USA on Wednesday and usual review shows on Thursday before the grand release on Friday. The film on Wednesday minted about US $1.6 million and about US $ 4.9 million from its preview shows, the total collection before the actual release of the film is now at US $ 6.5 million.
Coming to India, though Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire has gone on to make more than Rs 100 crore at the box office, the initial buzz for Kingdom is not exactly great. As per Sacnilk, on the first day of its releases till 2 PM the film has managed to earn only Rs 49 lakh. In India the film has released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages and as per a ticket booking app, the film has sold about 3730 tickets in the last one hour.
The film stars Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, William H Macy and Karin Konoval.
