Srikanth box office collection day 6: Rajkummar Rao earns positive word of mouth publicity, scores Rs 1.50 crore on Wednesday | Hindi Movie News

It is often believed in the movie business that it just takes one film to turn the fortune of people involved. And for Rajkummar Rao, who has been struggling with his past few releases, ‘Srikanth’ is exactly that film. This entertainer is a biopic based on the life of visually challenged MIT graduate businessman Srikanth Bolla. The film minted about Rs 11.7 crore over the opening weekend and passed the Monday test by earning Rs 1.65 crore.That was not all, ‘Srikanth’ maintained its steady run over the next two days earning Rs 1.60 crore on Tuesday Rs 1.50 crore on Wednesday, as per early estimates by sacnilk. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 16.45 crore.

The trade had expected ‘Srikanth’ to cross Rs 16 crore mark by Thursday but the positive word of mouth publicity has catapulted the film’s success. ‘Srikanth’ has already beaten the six day numbers of Rajkummar’s past films like Bheed (Rs 1.87 crore), Hit: The First Case ( Rs 7.29 crore) and Badhaai Do ( Rs 11.79 crore) and Roohi ( Rs 15.19 crore). Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanth also stars Jyothik, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar.
After ‘Srikanth’ , Rajkummar Rao will be seen in ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, wherein he is paired opposite Janhvi Kapoor. The film follows his journey as he stands in support of his wife’s dream of becoming a cricketer. Despite a few delays, the film is set to release on May 31. Additionally, Rajkummar has ‘Stree 2’ in the pipeline, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Towards the end of the year, he will collaborate with Triptii Dimri for Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Rajkummar will soon start shooting for his next film ‘Bhul Chuk Maaf’ with Wamiqa Gabbi in Varanasi, wherein a two month schedule is planned. This entertainer is directed by Karan Sharma.
