Regarding the possibility of a sequel to “Madgaon Express,” producer Ritesh Sidhwani addressed the speculation recently.When asked about the film’s ending hinting at a sequel, Sidhwani hinted positively, indicating that a sequel is indeed in the works.
“The right person to answer that is Kunal (Kemmu). But if you ask him he will tell you yes. Will it be his next film? I don’t think so because that’s on him to decide as a filmmaker what he wants to do next,” he told Pinkvilla.
“But when he came to us with that script, this was exactly the way he had written. (It) is exactly what you see on screen. I think he had that conviction and the belief that I will do this and I think with the love and what we are seeing the appreciation of the film, it was so heartening to see that,” he added.
Reflecting on the film’s performance, Sidhwani highlighted distributor Anil Thadani’s remarks about its simultaneous success in cinemas and on Amazon Prime, indicating a rare achievement in today’s film industry. This success, according to Sidhwani, underscores the audience’s reception and their eagerness to explore more from the “Madgaon Express” universe.
