In the city, Ananya’s character faces various challenges, including living in a house with a leaking roof, commuting in auto-rickshaws, and job hunting. She eventually secures a position at a newsroom under the stern and grumpy Vir Das, who initially dismisses her. The series will chronicle Ananya’s journey and her efforts to adapt and thrive. Take a look at the trailer here….
Also, in the trailer Ananya is sharing her plight with a watchman, who innocently replies, “aapki majboori jahan shuru hoti hai, vahan tak pahunchna hi toh hamara sapna hai.” To this Ananya asks, where have I heard that before?, a call back to Siddhant Chaturvedi saying “jahan humare sapne poore hote hain, wahan inka struggle shuru hota hai.” The same was said by Siddhant at the Newcomer’s Roundtable 2019, when Ananya started talking about her father Chunky Panday‘s struggle, and how he never appeared on Koffee With Karan or been part of a Dharma project.
Call Me Bae is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment. The 8-part series features Ananya Panday in the lead, along with Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.
