The sequel will take the story from part 1 ahead.The first part saw Ajay’s character taking Rakul’s character home to meet his family to get their approval on his marriage and, in the second part Rakul’s character will be taking Ajay’s character to her home to meet her father, played by R Madhavan thus leading to one upmanship between the two men, who will be around the same age! This will be Ajay and Madhavan’s second film together post Shaitaan.
ETimes has now exclusively learnt that a major chunk of shooting for the second installment of the film will be taking place in Punjab. A source close to the development said, “As of now, the production is busy preparing for a 45-50 day schedule in some beautiful and rustic locations in Punjab. While Madhavan, Rakul and the other cast and crew members leave next month for Punjab, Ajay Devgn will be joining after his Son Of Sardar 2 schedule which is being filmed in the United Kingdom.”

While the first part was directed by Akiv Ali, the responsibility for the second part has been handed over to Anshul Sharma. He has been creative director on films like Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu ki Sweety. The sequel is produced by Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The film is slated to release in the summer of 2025.
