Stree 2 minted Rs 433.05 crore in two weeks, and in the third week, it added another Rs 70.2 crore, with Thursday collection coming to Rs 5.35 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 503.25 crore.With this, the film not only enters the Rs 500 club, it also beats the lifetime Hindi collection of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which had minted Rs 502.98 crore. The overall collection of Animal still stands at Rs 553.87 crore, as the film had done major business in Tamil and Telugu, and is the 6th biggest hit of Indian Cinema.
This was not the only achievement of Stree 2 this week, the film also managed to beat the mammoth Baahubali 2, when it came to earning maximum collection in the third week in Hindi. Stree 2 minted Rs 70.2 crore, beating the previous record held by SS Rajamouli’s directorial which had earned Rs 69.75 crore.
Stree 2 also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana and Pankaj Tripathi with cameo appearances by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia. The makers are toying with the idea of having a spin off on Shraddha’s character and explaining the backstory of Stree. The film is part of Dinesh Vijan’s Horror-Comedy universe with Bhediya and Munjya, and soon, Vampires will also be added to the mix with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming film, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar.
