Famous ‘Friends’ actor Matthew Perry, who lost his life last year at the age of 54, his Los Angeles home has been sold at $8.5 million. This is the same house where the actor spent his last moments.
It is a four-bedroom, four-bathroom property in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of L.A., which according to People has been sold in an off-market deal. According to The New York Times, Matthew Perry bought the house for $6 million in 2020.
Reports have revealed that for Matthew Perry’s estate Greg Holcombe of Carolwood Estates handled the listing and Brooke Elliot Laurinkus of Christie’s International Real Estate represented the buyer.
In addition to the L.A. house, Matthew Perry has a property located in Hollywood Hills. It was listed on the market in May 2024 for $5.2 million. The respective property was purchased by the actor in June 2023, just four months before his death.
Matthew Perry’s demise
Matthew Perry, the famous Chandler from ‘Friends’ left the mortal world last year on October 28, 2024. He was found unresponsive in his hot tub at the L.A. house. Reports say that his demise was caused by the acute effects of ketamine, as revealed by an autopsy in December 2023.
The autopsy further revealed that contributing factors included drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine (a medication used to treat opioid use disorder.) The actor had a history of addiction, and he candidly spoke about the same in several interviews and his memoir.
Months after Chandler’s demise, in May 2024, a formal investigation to determine the root cause. The authorities wanted to know the source of the powerful medication, as the amount found in the late actor’s blood was equivalent to a general anesthesia dose.
