‘The Dirty Picture‘ remains one of the most memorable roles of Vidya Balan and she also got a lot of love for it. Vidya had put on weight also for the film and when many people were quite apprehensive about she doing such a character. Many advised Vidya that such a role is not right for her image. But Balan spoke about it in an interview recently and said she just jumped on the role, despite everything else that people told her.
Vidya said that when director Milan Luthria came to her, she immediately gave a nod. She added that it was her best career decision. Vidya said during a chat with Galatta India, “I remember a few people saying, you know, but your image is the very decision of my career. People told me I remember a few people saying you know, but your image is very different I said what image? I’ve started my career just now. I’m just a few films old. I don’t want to be even at this stage; I don’t want to be limited by an image.”
The actress was thus asked about her take on the film’s sequel. She reacted, “I would love to. I’m ready for it. I’m fully ready for it, and I feel that, yeah, it would be great. You know it’s been a while since I’ve done a juicy role, you know.”
‘The Dirty Picture’ was based on the life of Silk Smitha and Vidya unapologetically owned the part and how! The actress will be seen next in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘, co-starring Kartik Aaryan and Madhuri Dixit. The film is directed by Anees Bazmee.
