Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have become the most iconic Bollywood on-screen pairs of all times, but the first time that they met on the sets of ‘Baazigar‘ in 1993, it was full of funny tension.
In a conversation with ABP News, the favourite duo talked about how they went from being “khadoos” and “loud” to becoming each other’s best friends.
In their first meeting on New Year’s Day, Shah Rukh says he had a headache as he had been celebrating through the previous night, but agreed to work on New Year’s Day. Kajol arrived quite bouncy and fresh on set. As much as she was quick to go about with her talks, SRK was already at pains listening to her long stories. He says at some point, she reminds him of a “peacock” as her voice was that loud.
The ‘Pathaan‘ star confessed saying to the makeup artist that, “What kind of an actress is she, can’t she keep quiet for some time?” He went on to add that Kajol can even be a political journalist with such a potent voice. Kajol considered SRK quite inaccessible and serious, stating, “He’s sitting like a complete grump on his chair, reading his script and not talking to anyone.”
Although it was a tough starting point, they worked past it and found chemistry and brought it to their love life on screen for fans of Bollywood classics in the films ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge‘, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and many more .
