It’s been a year since the beloved FRIENDS star Matthew Perry passed away. Though they say time heals every wound, the void created by his demise haunts his loved ones to date, including his co-star Matt LeBlanc, who reportedly is rethinking his life after Perry’s passing away.
Matt LeBlanc played the famous Joey Tribiyani on the show. On the popular sitcom, he was Matthew’s apartment mate and best friend. In real life also the two shared a close relationship and thus, Perry’s demise has reportedly made him rethink his career decision.
A source revealed to Daily Mail, “Matt is still upset over the loss of Matthew. Such an important part of his life and a good friend is gone. It has made him rethink his life. He wants to focus on other interests as that’s what is important to him right now… He is financially stable and doesn’t really want to be in the limelight anymore”
It seems that the decision to retire has been in the works for quite some time. He is re-evaluating everything and is looking for other fulfilling things in life than acting. He even turned down a film opposite Jack Nicholson and Rick Moranis.
“They just stopped and decided to live life and be happy with what they did in the past. He wants to enjoy life and keep things simple,” a source adds.
However, if a good opportunity comes knocking, the beloved Joey aka Matt would consider returning. “He would need the perfect opportunity to return in front of the camera for any role in TV and film as he has silently retired,” the source noted.
Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that Matt has avoided public appearances since Matthew Perry’s demise. Recalling him he wrote a note that read – “Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favourite times of my life. It was an honour to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never.”
