In a grand gesture to celebrate Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan‘s 59th birthday, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa lit up with his image.
The special tribute was unveiled on the world’s tallest building late Saturday evening, drawing in fans from across the UAE to join in the superstar’s birthday celebrations. The skyscraper was illuminated with a larger-than-life portrait of Khan, accompanied by a heartfelt message. Fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the spectacle, cheering and capturing the moment on their phones.
This isn’t the first time that SRK has been honoured on the Burj Khalifa. Over the years, the Dubai landmark has commemorated his birthdays with similar displays. Several of the actor’s movie trailers were also screened on the large display.
Shah Rukh was in Mumbai to celebrate his birthday with family, friends and his fans. This year, the actor was barred from keeping up with tradition and waving to his fans from his Mannat bungalow owing to security reasons. Instead, the birthday boy attended a closed-door fan event where he spoke about his kids, fans, and stardom and handed out some life lessons.
Encouraging fans to follow their dreams, he shared some words of advice saying, “The fact is that we come from nowhere. From our spaces, most of us come from nowhere. You have to believe that it makes no difference where your journey begins. Continue to work hard, study, keep writing and follow your dream. If you keep following your dreams, the end result will be very beautiful. That is what I stand for.”
Earlier Saturday evening, SRK’s wife, producer Gauri Khan shared a picture from their private birthday celebrations. Gauri took to her Instagram handle and shared two pictures, decades apart and wrote in the caption, “A memorable evening last night with friends and family… happy birthday @iamsrk.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh will be seen next in the movie ‘King’, starring opposite daughter Suhana Khan.
