Anita Lallian, the new owner of Matthew Perry‘s Los Angeles home, is closely connected to India, and she shared the unique journey of buying the house. Anita is an expert real estate developer and film producer, who claims she performed a Hindu ceremony before entering the house in Perry’s memory.
In one of her recent Instagram posts, Anita expressed her enthusiasm for buying the home, which she describes as her perfect new place. She had fallen in love with the house immediately, especially due to the stunning ocean view. She also shared that she wasn’t concerned about any negative feelings attached to the property, despite Perry having been found dead in the same house last year.
She posted a picture showing a pandit performing a blessing ceremony on the pool deck and one of the pools, with the great view of the house in the background. Anita mentioned in an earlier interview that her mother had moved to the US when Anita was two years old. She is originally from India and was 22 at that time. Part of Anita’s Hindu tradition involved her desire to bless the house in hopes of infusing good energy.

While she plans to redesign some of the layouts inside the house, Anita acknowledged that she would leave behind some elements used by the previous owner. This includes the logo of Batman in the pool, for instance. She maintained that their decision to acquire the house had no connection to Matthew Perry’s history, but rather was because they were so fond of the house as it was. They want to pay homage to all the good memories and fun that Perry brought to others.

According to People, Perry sold his Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles residence for $8.55 million. It has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and is 3,500 square feet. Matthew had purchased the home for around $6 million in 2020.
The ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry died aged 54 on October 28, 2023, reportedly from the acute effects of ketamine drowning and coronary artery disease. The investigation is currently underway.
