Bollywood fans may soon get to see the resurrection of a very iconic group as Akshay Kumar is said to be reviving a popular comedy ‘Bhagam Bhag’ with Govinda and Paresh Rawal. ‘Bhagam Bhag’ has become a cult over the years, and a sequel is now reported to be in the pipeline.
Recent reports from Pinkvilla suggest that Akshay Kumar has bought the rights of Bhagam Bhag from Shemaroo and is working on the development of ‘Bhagam Bhag 2‘. Akshay has also acquired the rights for the popular Hera Pheri franchise, and it seems that he is on a mission to revive some of the best Bollywood comedies.
Currently, the reports state that ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ is now in the script-writing stage as a new team of writers are assigned to write a story that will capture the same energy and humor that the original had been a massive hit for.
According to the reports, Akshay is keen on bringing along Govinda and Paresh Rawal, the two original cast members, alongside him. A reunion dream of the trio, with an intention to enjoy the classic comic chemistry while at the same time offering a fresh, new, and interesting story to its fans.
‘Bhagam Bhag’, directed by Priyadarshan was released in 2006 and was becoming the favorite film of many in no time. Its humor, the twist in the story, and memorable comic performances from the trio were what everyone cherished about the film.
