Actor-turned-politician Govinda cut short his campaign for Mahayuti candidates ahead of the November 20 polls, citing health issues on Saturday.
Govinda, who was campaigning in Jalgaon for Mahayuti candidates in Muktainagar, Bodwad, Pachora, and Chopda, returned to Mumbai after feeling unwell during a roadshow in Pachora. He had to cut the event short midway due to his health condition.
During the roadshow, Govinda urged the crowd to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi and vote for the ruling alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP.Govinda, a former Congress Lok Sabha MP, who joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, was hospitalised recently after getting wounded in the leg due to accidental discharge of his gun in his Mumbai home.
Meanwhile, a source earlier told ETimes, “Govinda is doing better. And he will soon be seen on screen as well.”
The actor’s comeback of sorts in entertainment space will be through Kapil Sharma’s show, where he will be seen sharing the stage with Shakti Kapoor (who was his sidekick in most of his 90’s hits) and Chunky Panday.
After years of on-off truce and war of words, the actor and his nephew Krushna Abhishek (also part of Kapil’s show) recently patched up and put the past behind them. Another highlight will be the two coming together in one frame after so many years for this show.
