As ‘Karan Arjun’ is all set to be released once again on November 22, 2024, its director, Rakesh Roshan, spoke about why Karan Arjun‘s influence still runs deep through cinema today. Roshan said the famous dialogue ‘Bhaag Arjun bhaag’ from ‘Karan Arjun’ repeated in ‘Pathaan’. This scene where Salman Khan says to Shah Rukh Khan in a funny tone, “Bhaag Pathaan bhaag,” received claps among fans for their nostalgic connect.
Roshan shared his thoughts with Pinkvilla by saying, “You like it because it feels like these dialogues are still so very popular. Lines like ‘Mere Karan Arjun aayenge’ and ‘Bhaag Arjun bhaag’ are still being used.” He further said such references underline the cultural impact of the 1995 blockbuster, which continues to resonate with audiences even decades later.
He further talked about how Karan Arjun has become a part of popular culture. It used examples like comedy shows The Kapil Sharma Show, which frequently makes a nod toward it.
“Even now, whenever I watch Kapil’s show and sometimes when they become Karan Arjun, it feels good. It shows how big an impact the film made back then. Even today’s generation knows about these dialogues and scenes,” he said.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, Karan Arjun combined action, emotion, and family drama to become one of Bollywood’s most iconic films. With the re-release of this film on screen, it is expected that it will introduce the timeless appeal of this film with a new generation of fans while leaving nostalgic marks in the minds of other viewers.
