Popular comedian Yash Rathi has stepped into trouble as the police have registered a case against him on account of using derogatory words at the show in IIT Bhilai in Durg district, Chattisgarh.
According to News 18, The show was held on November 15 at IIT Bhilai and it was packed with the presence of students, parents, and staff members.

A video of Yash allegedly using objectionable remarks went viral on social media and a complaint was registered under him for the same. The IIT management has also filed a police complaint against Yash. Rathi started his speech in English, later switched to Hindi slang and started throwing derogatory dialogues in his speech.
Reportedly the case against Yash Rathi was registered on Monday, November 18 and he is charged under section 296 (Obscene acts) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Jevra Sirsa police Chowki. According to the reports, further investigation on this matter is underway.
After Yash delivered the objectionable words during his speech at the show, he was asked to step down from the stage. Later the IIT Bhilai director Rajiv Prakash reportedly said that such use of derogatory words were never used in any stand-up comedy acts that were done earlier during the institutes’ annual fests. He also said that the audience was completely shocked at Yash Rathi using such derogatory language during the show, leading them to file a complaint against the comedian.
Further, the management has now declared that no stand-up comedy shows will be ever organized in the institute.
Meanwhile, the show was conducted as part of the annual fest named ‘Mirage’ which was organized by IIT Bhilai’s council of students’ affairs.
