Mollywood actress Jyothirmayi made her strong comeback with the recently released Amal Neerad’s directorial thriller ‘Bougainvillea’. After a successful theatrical run, ‘Bougainvillea’ is now gearing up for its OTT release.

Directed by Amal Neerad and starring Jyothirmayi, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban in the lead, ‘Bougainvillea’ is a psychological thriller movie that is co-written by Lajo Jose and Amal Neerad. The movie is a movie adaptation of Lajo Jose’s novel ‘Ruthinte Lokam’.
‘Bougainvillea’ revolves around the story of Royce and his wife Reethu who get caught up in a crime investigation when the latter is spotted outside a hostel where a girl went missing.
ETimes rated the film with a solid 3.5 out of 5 and our review read, “Malayalam has never had a shortage for female leads who can carry a film and draw people to theaters. Jyothirmayi was spectacular in the role of Reethu, a perfect example of under-utilised female talents in the industry. She was very convincing in how Reethu’s mood changes day after day and how the conditions, retrograde amnesia and anterograde amnesia, were affecting her life. One could just watch Reethu’s daily struggles without feeling bored because of how it was presented. Each frame caught her beauty and how she is one with the surroundings. The art team did a fantastic job in setting up everything around Reethu—the chaos, the order, and everything else.”
