The industry is now looking to end the year with another blockbuster—Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, which earned Allu Arjun the National Award for Best Actor.

The film is set to release worldwide tomorrow, and the excitement is palpable. According to current trends, the film has already sold tickets worth nearly Rs 79 crore in India for its first day, including block bookings and the trade is expecting the film to hit Rs 100 crore mark before the day ends.. In the United States, which over the past few years has become a big market for Telugu films, Pushpa 2 is also creating a significant buzz, nearing theRs ₹20 crore mark for its premiere day shows. As per trends, the film has already earned $2.2 million( Rs 19.32 crore) from almost 4,000 shows, selling over 80,000 tickets.
The record for the biggest premiere day sale of 2024 belongs to Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD, which earned $3.9 million in North America. It will be interesting to see if Allu Arjun can surpass that figure. Pushpa 2 has already become Allu Arjun’s biggest premiere day sale in the circuit, and before the final shows begin, the film is expected to hit at least $3 million, making it the third-biggest premiere day opening for a Telugu film this year, after Kalki 2898 AD and Devara Part 1.
The film also boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj.
