Allu Arjun is extending his rule over the box office with his film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. The action-film which was off to a record-breaking start on Thursday, shows no signs of slowing down as it continues to shatter box office records worldwide. After an explosive opening day, the action-packed sequel, also starring Rashmika Mandanna, is tracking a strong performance on its second day.

According to early estimates, after scoring an impressive Rs 175.1 crore net collection in India over its first day alone, numbers are expected to take a slight dip on Day 2, Friday. The Hindi version, in particular, has been a standout, earning an estimated Rs 65-67 crore net on Day 1. This makes it the biggest opener in the Hindi belt, surpassing even Shah Rukh Khan‘s previous blockbusters like ‘Jawan’.
With a gross collection of approximately Rs 203 crore, the film is looking ahead to some good overall box office numbers. On day 2, advance bookings have set the stage for the film’s phenomenal success, with over 4 lakh tickets sold for opening day shows in multiplexes. Pushpa 2 has already sold over 2.25 lakh tickets in the top three multiplex chains, with pre-sales nearing Rs 50 crore.
Despite the colossal opening, industry experts predict only a minimal drop in collections on Friday, expected to bring in Rs 120-140 crore. However, with spot bookings, particularly in mass centres, the film could just go on to record another big day at the box office and clock in another Rs 50 crore-plus day for the Hindi version alone.
Directed by Sukumar, the sequel to the 2021 hit ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ is poised to make history with its four-day opening weekend. With the weekend surge expected to begin Friday evening, the film is on track to set an all-time record in Indian cinema.
