Shraddha Kapoor recently attended the 2024 Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia and shared exciting updates about her upcoming projects during her interview with Pinkvilla. When asked about her potential appearance in Bhediya 2, following a teaser in ‘Stree 2’, Shraddha responded, “Only time will tell if any more cameos of mine come up in any of the other Maddock films.” She teased that more details about her future films would be revealed soon.
Shraddha also expressed admiration for Kiran Rao’s film ‘Laapataa Ladies’, which was selected as India’s entry for the Oscars 2025. “It’s so amazing to see that good films are getting their due and appreciation,” she said, praising the film for its powerful storytelling. The actress emphasized the importance of films being recognized for their quality, adding that it encourages others to focus on creating impactful work.
Meanwhile, Shraddha’s previous outing ‘Stree2’ turned out to be a superhit and also received good reviews from the audiences. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree was a groundbreaking horror-comedy starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Based on the urban legend of “Nale Ba,” the film combined humor with a compelling supernatural storyline. Made on a budget of approximately Rs 20 crore, Stree grossed over Rs 180 crore worldwide, becoming a massive box-office success. It was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2018 and received widespread critical acclaim.
The sequel, Stree 2, was highly anticipated and continued the story of the haunted town of Chanderi. The principal cast members, including Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, along with Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, returned to the silver screen. ‘Stree 2’ turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2024 with a collection of Rs 586 crore in India and over Rs 826 crore gross worldwide.
