And the Lion King continues to roar! Disney’s live-action animated adventure ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian box office over the weekend.
According to the Sacnilk report, the movie has minted around Rs 11.75 crore in India across multiple languages on its day 10, ie. its second Sunday. The maximum business came from the Hindi language, as the movie minted Rs 4.7 core net, not far behind is English with a collection of Rs 3.3 crore. Further, in Tamil, the movie made a business of Rs 2.5 crore and in Telegu, it minted Rs1.25 crore.
The film’s total net collection is now estimated at Rs 101.85 crore net in India, while it has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark with its gross collections. Directed by Barry Jenkins, ‘Mufasa’ has maintained its grip at the India box office across different languages. In the total collection, the maximum earnings came from the film’s English version. It took the lead with an impressive business of Rs 35.35 cr, while the Hindi dubbed version came close second with Rs 35.2 crore earnings. Further, in third place are the collections from the Tamil language – Rs.17.25 crore, while in Telugu the movie collected Rs 14.05 crore.
