Nikki Glaser, the host of the 82nd Golden Globes, feels ‘well-paid’ for doing her job. And, there’s a chance she’ll get more – next time!
According to the reports, Glaser received an amount of a little over USD 400,000 for the night, according to Deadline. Further, the report from the said outlet also states that the fee is ‘significantly’ going to rise if Glaser comes back to host the 83rd Golden Globes in a contract of five years with the producers.
‘Someday You’ll Die’ comedian signed a three-year contract with the producers last year to recondition the previously messed up annual ceremony. After making big laughs and no controversy – a crucial factor, she’s likely to host again. Her pay will increase in 2026 in such conditions, according to the media outlet.
Further, in an interview with Howard Stern, Glaser mentioned she might have done the debut for free, just to prove herself. Later, she mentioned a certain Golden Globes’ past host who received much more than she did, “There was a past host who said how much he got paid in his monologue and I got less than that, but that’s OK.” The names weren’t taken, so the amount can’t be measured. She just said, “I’ll get more next year.”
However, reports state that Jerrod Carmichael, the comedian, hosted the show in 2023 and disclosed in his monologue that he was paid $500,000 for the role.
Meanwhile, no official announcement has been made by the producers of the next year’s host but Glaser feels certain about her being one. She went vocal in the interview that even if she didn’t kill the jokes, she was just okay, she still would be host for the next year as no one usually agrees to take such an opportunity. After having many things at stake, people have turned them down for fear of getting the joke bombed.
