Actor Sonu Sood is all set to make his directorial debut with the action-packed film ‘Fateh’. In a recent interaction, the actor, known for his well-maintained physique, shared insights into his fitness regimen, emphasising his vegetarian lifestyle and disapproval of supplements and steroids in building his robust frame.
In an interview with Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, Sonu debunked the stereotype that a muscular body requires the consumption of meat or alcohol. “I’m a vegetarian. I don’t drink. I’ve never tasted non-veg. Also, I’ve inherited my parents’ Punjabi DNA. My dad was very strong,” he stated. Sonu revealed that his disciplined approach extends to his food choices, where simplicity reigns. Sharing childhood memories, he admitted to once relishing an entire loaf of bread paired with a brick of butter daily. Milk also formed a significant part of his youthful diet. “I’d tear off the corner of the milk packet and drink it all up,” he recalled.
Sonu dismissed the widespread notion that fitness demands synthetic aids. While he has tried protein powder, he firmly draws the line at supplements and steroids. He added that when he goes to hotels, chefs offer special meals, but he asks for salad and egg whites. His adaptability is evident as he insists he can survive on dal and rice his entire life. The actor further revealed that makki ki roti is an occasional indulgence, and he has refrained from eating chapatis altogether.
Describing his unwavering commitment to fitness, Sonu said he hasn’t missed a single workout session since he began his fitness journey. He emphasised the discipline and consistency that define his regimen. His breakfast typically consists of an egg-white omelette, avocado, sautéed vegetables, and papaya, reflecting a clean and consistent dietary plan.
