Taylor Swift, the billionaire singer, has always been vocal about her love for the show ‘Friends.’ She made references at her concert and expressed in interviews that Friends was her comfort show.
In an interview with Vogue’s 73 Questions, she mentioned that the one song she wished she had written was the Friends’ theme song. When the interviewer asked about one song the ‘Lover’ singer wished she would’ve written, she responded, “The Friends theme song because of those royalties.” She’s been a fan of this show since her childhood, as she mentioned in plenty of interviews.
In another interview, she mentioned her comfort episode being ‘The One Where Everybody Finds Out’, specifically Phoebe’s ‘My Eyes, My Eyes’ moment, when she looks at Monica’s apartment from Ross’ apartment and finds out about Monica and Chandler. In a different interview, when Swift had a chance to name two cats – a male and a female, she named them Monica and Chandler.
According to her fans on the internet, the ‘My Tears Richochet’ singer has not only made references to the show in interviews but also has put a little detail in her concert ‘Reputation Stadium Tour’. While performing the song ‘This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things’, she has a lyric that says “Here’s a toast to my real friends, They don’t care about the “he said, she said”. As referring to the show, she had a set of a fountain, like in the theme song of ‘Friends’. Previously, on her ‘The 1989 World Tour’, she had Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe from ‘Friends’) as a guest. They sang ‘Smelly Cat’ in front of the live audience. The ‘All Too Well’ singer also had Matt LeBlanc (Joey from ‘Friends’) walk down the stage on her song as her guest at ‘The 1989 World Tour’.
