The blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, continued its impressive box office performance as it entered its sixth weekend.
On its 37th day, the film added an estimated Rs 1.15 crore to its domestic net collection, maintaining a steady hold despite stiff competition from new releases like Ram Charan‘s ‘Game Changer‘ and Sonu Sood‘s ‘Fateh’.
According to sacnilk, Pushpa 2, which has been ruling the box office since its release on December 5, came took the fourth spot on the list of highest earning films on Friday. While ‘Game Changer’ took the lead with its Rs 51 crore debut, ‘Kaatera’ came in second with a collection of Rs 2.65 crore while ‘Fateh’ earned Rs 2.45 crore.
The action-packed sequel has been a phenomenal success, with record-breaking collections since its release. After a roaring opening week, earning Rs 725.8 crore net, the film went on to earn Rs 264.8 crore in its second week and added another Rs 129.5 crore on week 3. Week 4 brought with it an earning of Rs 69.65 crore and an additional Rs 23.25 crore in week 5.
The film has cemented its position as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, surpassing several records, including that of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
As it heads into its sixth weekend, industry experts predict it will continue to rake in consistent numbers. Pushpa 2, which currently boasts of a total net collection of Rs 1,213 crore, has another exciting week to look forward to at the box office with the release of an upcoming extended cut. The film will reportedly hit theatres with an additional 20 minutes of footage, which is expected to send fans flocking to theatres to watch the film on the big screen again.
Directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has been lauded for its gripping storyline, high-octane action sequences, and Allu Arjun’s stellar performance as Pushpa Raj. Fans have also appreciated Rashmika Mandanna’s portrayal of Srivalli, along with Fahadh Faasil’s compelling role as the antagonist Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
