Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have parted ways after a decade together.
Amidst much buzz around their marriage, the singer announced late Monday night that she and her husband have ended their 10-year marriage and have been living separately. The two, who shared their decision to co-parent their children, also asked for privacy as they navigate their split.
In a statement to People, Simpson said, “Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”Jessica and Eric tied the knot in 2014 and share three children together – Maxwell (14), Ace (11), and Birdie (5).
Speculation about trouble brewing in paradise first began doing the rounds back in November 2024 when Eric was seen without his wedding ring. Around the same time, Simpson posted a cryptic message on Instagram, hinting at a return to music. “This comeback is personal. It’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve,” she wrote.
Sources at the time claimed the couple was living “separate lives,” and Simpson’s latest announcement confirms the same.
This is the sixth Hollywood celebrity break-up announcement that has been announced since Jan 1, 2025. Just last week, actress Jessica Alba made waves for her alleged divorce from her husband of nearly 16 years Cash Warren. Over the weekend, Courtney Ford and former ‘Superman’ star Brandon Routh also announced their divorce. Meanwhile, other stars like Naomi Osaka and Cordae and celeb couple Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber also reportedly parted ways.
